Amanda’s dance pictures

I’ve known Amanda since she was a little kid… now she’s not so little at all, and BOY can she dance! Although she’s been dancing for as long as I can remember, I’ve never actually watched her until our session in downtown Huntsville last week. Every now and then she’d do bits of her numbers for me, and I was totally blown away. For each outfit she put on, Amanda did a different style of dance, and it turns out she can do everything from jazz to tap to ballet. Although we picked up a few confused stares from the other people walking around downtown (apparently they don’t see a lot of people doing high kicks in a tutu on the street), it was so much fun getting to photograph this girl performing.

I love the pictures! Thank you SO much Cocoa for taking the time to take these! I had a blast! (and THANK YOU for the little intro up there!)

Abbie & Wesley’s wedding

Before the wedding, Abbie told me she wanted to be her wedding to be “amazing, sweet, and romantic”. If that was the goal, it was definitely achieved! She and her family are some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet, so as you can imagine, her wedding was nothing short of gorgeous and I was so glad to be there. Vicki, her mother, is one of my coworkers at Gigi’s Fab Kids, and her little sis Maggie often models for our advertisements. In addition, I did the entire family’s portraits last summer and totally fell in love with Abbie. A few months after that she got engaged to Wes, who is such a gentleman, and you can really tell how much he cares for Abbie. When they asked me to photograph their wedding I was pretty much over the moon.

Although Abbie is from Florida, Wes is from Andalusia, so they tied the knot there in the incredible Springdale Mansion (now one of my favorite venues!). After getting into town, my second shooter Kailey and I drove past it for the first time while searching for a place to eat and almost drove off the road because we couldn’t get over how breathtaking it is in person. Combine such an awesome location with Abbie’s personal touches and you have a seriously amazing wedding. I knew that Abbie and I were going to get along perfectly when she told me that she was thinking about having a coffee bar… um, yes please! I really can’t tell you how great it was to be this girl’s wedding photographer. She and Wesley were one of the sweetest, most gracious couples I’ve ever gotten to work with, and they deserve nothing but happiness in their new life together.

During family pictures, Abbie found a ladybug on her dress… how’s that for good luck?

The Yarboroughs in Rosemary Beach

I’m so glad summer is back, because that means it’s time for beach portraits. The Yarboroughs pretty much define what I love about sessions on the beach- they’re laid back, fun, and always super gorgeous. It was great getting to spend the evening with such a sweet family.
